So I did a few interviews at Laguna and I've just now gotten around to putting them up since I had some other writing I had to do first. It was actually a pretty quick impromptu interview since of course that weekend the team was really struggling to get the bike set up. Still some interesting tidbits here and there.

Yeah I try not to ask fluffy questions because you can get that kind of question anywhere. The other thing is that these guys are insanely busy so I don't want to make them feel like I'm wasting their time.
With Pete there was a lot to read in between the lines. One thing that got me thinking is he was saying the traction control changes from corner to corner. That got me to thinking, how would they do that? I remember hearing something about Honda having different engine maps depending on where the bike was on the track using GPS. Maybe that was what he was talking about. I kinda wish I had asked him to elaborate on that but then again maybe that was getting into secret territory.
I also wish I had time to ask him about what parts of the Evo RCV suited Nicky's style but I was already at the 5 minute mark and I didn't wanna overstay my welcome.

Does Honda use it's own electronics package or an outside supplier?
Boy Pete has had a huge job the last couple of years with the evo bike and then with this turd that wont turn or get off the corner. At least they're not alone with the whole Pedrosa mutiny next door.
I think crew chiefs are a far more interesting interview than many rider as I'm interested in the bike/tech side of motogp.

As far as I know, HRC does their own electronics.
I agree. Some riders have a lot of cool things to say (Hodgson comes to mind) but some just give cookie cutter responses to everything. I find the technical and management side very interesting so that's who I like to talk to.
You know I really wonder how the whole Pedrosa contract hold-out thing is going to turn out. I'm sure the HRC powers that be are not amused, especially considering everything they've done for him.

It seems like Pedrosa thought he was going to stomp everyone this year but the Honda sucks and so do the michelins and he's disappointed. You gotta hand it to Nicky and his extremely diplomatic personallity.
Even if Pedrosa wanted to go somewhere could he? Are there any seats open anymore?

How would you sum up in your words Honda's racing philosophy in Moto GP?
Um, generally the idea is that they wanna come out and win. That's it, all they want to do is win everything. Which is a good attitude you know but unfortunately this year it hasn't happened.
lmao.

Yeah I think that was the most disappointing answer to any question I've ever asked anyway. But I suppose Kiwis and Australians are not known for their romantic, passionate views on life. Maybe if I had asked an Italian the same question...
