Default Getting new rims

I was planning on putting on some 17" rims. The current 15" rims I have on now are 7" wide. I need to know that if I get some 17x7.5's (cause I wanted 225/45 tires) that with my car lowered if I will have any rubbing. Does anyone know if this will work?

225/45's on 17's will rub, regardless of the wheel width. You'd be better off with 205's on 17x7.5's
