my automatic transmission is slipping at about 6000 rpms in 3rd and fourth gear and i was wondering if any of you guys might have any idea what the problem was because i vaguely remember reading something about it somewhere well thank you guys in advance i really hope you guys can help me out because the shop i took it to said i needed a whole new tiptronic transmission that will set me back about 2G lol

 

classic symptoms, get ready to buy a new auto tranny. or PM me and ill get you a good price on the neccessary parts for a 5spd swap. (with or without tranny) its just a recent hookup i got.

 

Dunno, why you're Revving all the way up to 6k , but anyways, Prelude Auto Transmissions are known to go bad, and that's what it sounds like it going to happen to yours...

If you didn't want to do a 5spd swap, which most everyone is going to recommend.. I, personally, would just buy a used Auto Tranny, which you can get for cheap since no one wants them, and just swap it in.. Instead of spending the money rebuilding the one you got. Even if it goes bad years down the road, which all will, you'll still would not have spent any where near the amount on the rebuild.. But that's me...

thanx guys ok well my parents are rly gay about manuals so where would i be able to get one of the used autos like is there a store or somewhere that will ship em 2 me

 

manual swap + sell car + buy a more reliable auto car is an option too

 

whats up prelude members i need ya help since ya talking bout tranny. my auto tranny sucks bad am leaving out with a big sign 100 dollars for the tranny its in good shape lol just kidding. my cuzin gave me a stick tranny from an accord and i need your help with things that i need to do this swap to 5speed. i knoe about the clutch pedal clutch and shift cable but someone told me about a harness do ya knoe about this. my cuzin has no clue so if you would help me with what i need to complete this swap i would probably get to help your friend here with a cheap tranny. plus i herd accord trannys are good.
