REALLY weird revlimiter problem
Okay...'94 GS-R in a '94 Civic.
I just got a new chipped P28 in the car and it runs great, but every now and then the car will hit the rev limiter at 7,200 rpm's instead of the 8,200 rpm's that it's set at.
It also has one of the CEL shift lights that's set to 7,800 rpm's, but on those rare occassions it throws the CEL at 6,800 rpm's.
I pm'd the ECU's tuner and he said it may be a problem with the Tachometer Signal in the wiring harness...anybody ever heard of anything like this?
I think that that might be the issue, but I just needed to throw the idea at somebody else. Also, VTEC is set to engage at 5,500 rpm's and it will engage at 5K on those occassions.

if you are throwing a code at 6800 rpms, then chances are the ecu has the code saved. pull the code and this will be the last piece of the puzzle.

^The ecu is chipped to throw the CEL at that certain RPM as a shift light.
I emailed the tuner and I'll probably be sending it back for them to look at because all connections are good and clean, so there's nothing else it could be BUT the ecu itself, right?
