Question about ECU....
I live in a place were there isnt any good tuners so i was considering other options that would be ok. I am gonna do basic bolt ons and then go bigger things. I wanted to know what others thought of the ecu's that adjust themselves to how the car runs for best performance. I know its not the best but would it be ok for now because when i get stuff I cant get it tuned for awhile.
Here check it out. The guy has good reviews and it seams pretty good....

An ecu has to be tuned for the car itself, you can't just go buy something off the internet that claims it will learn your car. Yes the ecu will learn your car, but its not going to learn how to adjust for boost or any other parts

Yeah that's a cool idea but why haven't all of the tuning shops gone under?

Yeah i know its not the best thing and that a person could tune it better but i could be adding stuff to my car and not be able to get it tuned for a year or so. This is like a short term thing. It probably wont mess me up or anything and its just temperary so i dont run lean and i still get the performance i want wen i upgrade..

That all depends, I mean you can blow up an engine from not getting the car properly tuned.

As for the cams, everything else you don't really need to get tuned for. Yes it would help but you will be ok with the stock ecu.

yeah i guess...and then after im done with all that i was thinking of just getting an itr ecu cause that would be easier than trying to get it tuned around here...but idk...
DUAL STAGE VTEC ENGAGEMENT@ 4600rpm's/5800rpm's
Flag number one:
A gsr ecu does not have dual stage vtec. It has intake air butterflies & 1 vtec activation point.
Flag number two: Skunk2 programs are not always the "best" to be running on for your specific setup.
Do some research :-)

if you're going to half *** it, dont even bother. stick with i/h/e and you'll never have to worry about tuning it.
