Hmm... help identify noise coming from engine after swap?
I just did a B16A2 (00) swap into my Civic (96). First I would like to comment that I still think the car is slow just like the Y8 it had. I am using a chipped P28 ECU. Anyways, regardless, I am hearing a "ss" engine noise when driving. In low RPM, you can barely hear it, in medium RPM, you can hear it. When driving on the highway and putting the car in N, the noise goes away instantly. What could this be or how can I diagnose the noise? Is it normal? It is a "ssss" like noise, sounds like air being sucked by a dirty filter.
The more I hear it... the more it sounds like loose valves. But it is not noticeable when car is idling or in N. Really noticeable on the highway with windows closed. What could it be?
well remember what you swapped in ..a b16 ..there cows..you have to rev high to make power..its not like you swapped in a k20 ..

i don't understand why everyone talks down a b16 so badly....you make it seem like you have to rev to 15,000 rpm to go somewhere.....anyway if the noise goes away when you put the car in neutral then my bet is you have a bad input shaft bearing in the transmission.
