I currently have both differentals out of the respective transmissions. I want to swap the 4.4 FD of the S1 onto the Y1 LSD. From searching H-T, I found that all "thin-spline" B-series cable trannies have interchangable parts. However, I also found that the Y1 LSD is the oddball, where the FD is not a gear that can be changed, but actually part of the casing. Can anyone verify this? I would take the differentials apart, but I don't have the necessary tools and shops are closed already. Thanks for any help.
if it is a true y1 w/lsd then it should be a large spline input shaft, like the hydro trannys, atleast mine is.
The final drive ring gear is removable but will not mate with any other diff due to bolt count 15 for the y1 10 for everything else.
