Machining OEM pistons to fit forged rods
Sorry to bother anyone with this topic but I would greatly appreciate the feed back. I have a set of pr30 pistons and Probe rods. Obivously anyone will say that these will not fit unless you,
1. Have the rods narrowed to fit in the pistons
2. Have the pistons machined to accept conventional style Circle clips
After taking the my rods to a local machine shop to have the tops narrowed, the machinist pointed out that the oem press pins would not keep the pins anchored in the pistons with my rods and that I would have to get the pistons machined to fit circle clips. He mentioned that he would to it but did not have a machine for this procedure.
I,ve read a dozen threads on this topic, but have yet to find one where someone has actually done this. My questions is, has anyone had this procedure done to there OEM pistons?
