Cooling ? IS my set up overkill...........
I am putting a ITR motor (legit) in my SI next month and I am doing my last check on parts and the cooling system was a concern of mine. DID I over do it I have a Civic replacment FLUIDYNE radiator and I am in the process of picking up some Spoon goodies like Thermostat and fan switch.
My ? is With the Fluidyne radiator Spoon fan switch and thermostat will the car be to cool and not be able to get into V-tec.
Any help would be helpfull
Thanks
CHRIS

Your Vtec will still be able to engage. I have the Spoon thermostat and switch and the motor runs pretty cold at night on the freeway and such. Driving through city streets it would be on normal temp.
From what I remember the Spoon thermostat opens up at around 68 degrees compared to 78, I dont remember since it has been awhile. As for the thermoswitch, I noticed that my fan turns on more frequently, quicker intervals.

you all know that if your engine is too cool it will cause premature wear right? i really doubt you need a knew thermostat. i really dont think it is needed. for anythign but a race car.
i ran the fan switch and the thermostat with a fluidyne radiator in my gsr and it was overkill. it ran way too cool. the radiator does enough.
