For those w/out rear mud flaps...
How sturdy is the back bumper cover where the mud flaps normally go? I recently removed the rear mud flaps and noticed the cover was pretty flimsy. Are there any brackets that are suppose to go there to stiffen up the lower portion of bumper. Hmm, maybe I'm making my own.
Thx.
Thx.
i don't know of anything that would stiffen it up, but I don't see the problem with them being alittle flimbsy, they're not that bad. BTW why did you take off the rear mud flaps chris?

Well I'm having the side skirts color matched so I had to remove the front mud flaps. I figured I'd remove the rear ones as well while the skirts are in the paint shop. That’s when I noticed how flimsy the lower portion of the bumper is w/out the flaps. The mud flaps kind of tie in that part of the cover making it stiffer.
I was just concerned about how floppy the bumper corner's would be at high speeds. I could probably fab up some kind of small aluminum bracket that would be pretty inconspicuous.
I'll put the mud flaps back on after the skirts are painted and see how it look's.
Still undecided on the whole non-mud flaps thing anyway. Just wanted to get some other's opinion on how sturdy their rear bumper is w/out them.
Maybe the '98-01 rear bumpers are stiffer back there than the '94-97 ones.
