Default Building motor question.......

Right now I am considering a lot of options to rebuild my motor. I'm leaning towards Ls/Vtec or the B20vtec. My question is what would the affects be of using a LS crank with Gsr rods in a GSR block? I'm moving back to Cali so trying to stay secrative about the engine mods for registration stuff, cali people should know what i'm talking about.

Questions similar to this are asked daily....i hate to say it but search. When you are done considering and decide on what you want build it. There are so many different options all of which require probably more work than you think and more money. Show us a pic when you are done putting it together.

ls crank and gsr rods will not work. well, it will, but your pistons will be sitting out of the cylinder at tdc. you need to match the rods with the crank.

yes i just found that out. did a lot of reading and some of it went in then out of my head. The only thing that I couldn't really remember was something about which bearings to use. Any help with that?

u can use either or bearings, gsr or ls bearings. with the gsr bearings u would have to machine your rods to be narrow. i like to stick with oem bearings, but sometimes i find myself using acl cuz they are laying around in the shop. and u would have to use the ls rods with ls crank in the gsr block. basically a mini stroker. its been done tons of times and i myself have it in my gsr block.
