Default no brakes. Ahhhhh!!!!

Today while i was driving my brakes went on me. No warning or anything like that. There is no griding noise or leaks anywhere. My brake fluid s at perfect level and I never have had to fill it in the 2 years I have owned the car. I press my brake pedal all the way, and nothing. Scary. Lucky for me it was late and there wasn't a lot of people on the road when I went rite through a red light. So i throw the car in neutral and pull the ebrake to a stop. Eventually I got it home by the backroads. Any advice on what this can be ???

it sounds like you have some air in the system but it would not just go out on you like that while driving

It sounds to me like the master cylinder has failed. If you have no fluid loss and the pedal goes to the floor then the most likely problem is the M/C. Nothing else will cause the "bypass" symptoms you describe

that crappened to me once, was pretty scary but I was in traffic going slow. I was still able to pump them a bit and they worked after. I bled my brakes after that, but it stll went to the floor slowly when hot. then I eventually changed the mc and that solved everything.

thats not an item you want to buy used. get yourself a new one form autozone or advanced autoparts.
