b&m short shifter
the instructions say i have to take the exhaust pipe and the cat to install a short shifter do i have to do all this or is there another way? Another question how do i remove the shifter console????? Help is appriciated and no dum *** answers.

I installed mine a few weeks ago, the easiest way i saw to do it without taking the exhaust apart was after unbolting the shifter from the shift linkage, unbolt the shift extension rod on the transmission side (just one bolt) and pull the whole thing out with the shifter attached.
