d15b transmission question

Default d15b transmission question

ok i have a d15b engie that the trans went bad on. i got a different trans out of a 90 hf i believe and the splines arent the same what tranny can i use to solve this problem

It sounds like you have an 88, so you'll need another 88 transmission if you want to retain the same clutch.

no its the jdm d15b out of a eg i believe what cable trans bolts up to that

Any 88-2000 d series tranny will bolt up to it. It's not about the motor, it's about your clutch / tranny combo. If your tranny is from an 88, then you need to use a clutch / FW from an 88.

So basically if your current tranny is an '88 you're going to want to find an '88 to replace it, or else you'll have to swap the clutch and FW to the same year as whatever tranny you get.
