ok is it fairly reliable and accurate?

 

I know someone locally who just put one on his car, I will ask him what he thinks of it next time I get a chance... although it is not on a honda it should not matter.

He did tell me it was simple to install and perform the free air calibration... but I never did check back on how it was performing now that its been in the car for a little time.

In my opinion it's the best sub $400 wideband on the market...

 

I've used it, very easy to setup and never failed me once. Sensors are replaceable and they're not too expensive, either.

That price is a little high though, you can get them pretty much anywhere for around 220-230 shipped.

 

I think the biggest plus about this wideband is that you can upgrade to the NTK sensor with no modifications at all, just plug it in.

 

I have had mine for about 7 months and I like it a lot. Its mounts in my car permanently and in the amount of time I have had it, no problems at all.

My roomate has that in his crx and ive got the plx-m300 in my teg. I gotta say i like how quickly the plx reacts to changes, the NTK seems pretty sluggish. The one thing ill say about it is its very easy to read in sunlight. I cant see my plx for crap, except at night. but his is bright during the day. But for the price, its decent. One thing im wondering, is the plug for the O2 is the exact same as the VX 5 wire, so would the honda 5-wire work as a direct replacement?

 

Yes, same plug as the Civic VX sensor. Some of the newer Acuras have the same connector, but a slightly different sensor.

As far as the response, it's not that it responds slow, it's that the filtering rate is setup so you can get a halfway stable number, can't get a real number if the display is jumping all over the place.

 

IMO the only reason you'd use the display is to get a quick samle of what's going on. Your tune shouldn't magicly go from 11:1 to full lean in a fraction of a second, and if it does, your motor is probably toast anyways.

It seems every time I get a different wideband setup, a better one shows up. Looks real nice for the price due to the NTK sensor.

 

Doesn't come with the NTK sensor for that price, but can be upgraded to one by just plugging one in.

 

i agree with tony. only wideband other than my FJO i have been happy with


even with the cheaper sensor that came with it....it lasted a LONG time.
