At what RPM does the rev limiter kick in on a 96 F22B2? I'm scared to take the car past 5500-6000 RPM

Thanks! It seems like this SOHC motor doesn't like to be rev'ed like my B18B1 did in my Integra. Is that the main difference between a DOHC vs. a SOHC engine? 2nd gear pulls in the Accord up to redline just feel painful

 

You make all your power long before redline, try shifting around 5800 for a better powerband.

F22B2:

Power (bhp@rpm):
130 @ 5,300 rpm
Torque (ft/lbs@rpm):
139 @ 4,200 rpm

 

i shift at 5k when i'm kickin the tranny's teeth in. but when i put the act/fidanza package in...5500/6k shifts here and there

 

i have a 96 accord lx non vtec and my rev limit is like 6900 rpms and run it there all the time when racing nad have 170,000 miles on it

Your tach is off.

 

i have the the same set up f22b2....take it past 6000 all the time....
