This was my very first time ever running on a drag strip so please dont dog on my time 2 bad, but this is my best time of the night. I think if i had slicks and more practice i could get my 60' time down to 2.2 and ill have a better 1/4 time. What do yall think?
Its a 94 GSR with a AEM CAI and 15" Rota C8's. And it weigh's 2540 without me in it.

Are your tires bald or something? What rpm where you launching at? How did you launch? That 60 foot time needs some help!

 

Just practice...you don't need slicks for 2.2 60fts. I pulled a 2.2 on my 13'' vx wheels w/bald goodyears. Practice is the key!

All you need is more practice at launching to get your reaction and 60ft times faster! At what RPM are you launching? What tires are you using?

yup, i went 2 reynolds. I was launching at 3500 and dumping the clutch...

 

Dont dump your clutch! Try to feather your clutch to reduce the amount of wheel spin and your 60' times will improve.

 

i was just nervous that day. Tryed 2 get off the line as fast as possible. Ill go back soon with slicks and practice more. I think i ran a total of 17 times...

Let me echo te others by saying that 2.2 is totally possible on street tires, especially yours.

180 treadwear and a little lower than 32psi and you should see consistent 2.2 or at most 2.4 60 footers at Silver Dollar/Reynolds.

Congrats on the times though, and with 2.2 60 footers you might dip low 15s.



Don't even go on slicks - try to get those 60 footers down on street tires first.

BTW:

Please tell me you did NOT burn out in the water on those tires.

hey what up karmannghia, i saw you at the track. i had the white civic turbo coupe. so you ended up spanking that supra? that guy works near me and he swears his car is a god. he's pulling maybe 345whp which isn't impressive to me coming from a twin turbo especially when i saw a type r hittin 415whp on the ep dyno.

Yeah, its a B18c1 turbo with Hondata. Its not built, thats why I wasn't boosting much. As for knowing me, nahhh, you the famous one with the goatie...

Wasssup themi6group, I didn't know that was a turbo civic. We could have swap turbo stories.. Yeah that dude with the supra came up and wanted to race me, he told me he dynoed at 345 whp and after he put some ice on the intake manifold, he got 30 more hp I just smiled.

ok itr206, im so damn sorry i dont have a R and can talk so much **** like u do. I had this car for about 2 months. My car is just about stock running 15.5. And this "kid" knows if i could of got traction down their and got my launch right that for every .1 in my 2.6 0-60 foot is .2 in my 1/4. So if i got it down to 2.2 I could have been at or around 14.7-8. This "kid" knows more then u think....

im glad you think you could have gotten that time , because form your slip you are well off that time . try excersizing that theory to see if its true . . man you got alot to learn . try racing some more and get some exp under your belt before you quote stuff like that without knowing its true . it doesnt always apply .trust me .
you just talk too much **** and it annoys me .
with the hp you got , you shouldnt be having that much trouble with traction. . ..you just dont know how to drive, thats prob what it is .
