Car idles way too high
I got a friend that just swaped a b16a2 in his 92 hatch. When he turned it on it idles way too high. The throttle cable is set how its supposed to be. So is there anyone with ideas as to why it idles way too high. Also what rear motor mount should he use?
holy **** thats not an idle thats a rev damn....... defnialy check those... its all it really can be. does it start up and go straight to 4-5 or does it bounce between there
its starts rough. then it revs up after like 5-10 secs(by itself), and once it gets there it doesnt come down, cause we eventually turn it off after a while.

That is one thing we hope to not do, but since it got late here, we will check all that tomorrow. Also, even if we did take it to a shop, what would they do different or look for.

do you have an intake on it? i got an ls/v swap in my eg and it does that when i took off the intake. there is a small hole on the throttle body that if its not covered up will cause the car to do that. the rubber connector to the intake will cover it up and it will idle normal. if thats not it then check what these other guys said. my $0.02
Ok same **** happend with me, replaced my t/b they said it was an type r but it was really an LS, and my **** ripped about 4-5 and kept rising and once i turned it off it was rough *** hell so, i changed out my throttle to an BBK with all new sensors, but if u want an oem replacement go with an type r,b16, b18c1, no LS. Hope this helps you out and make sure your throttle cable is not too tight, and if you fucked with the spring coil that controls the throttle valve make sure its back on the right way because it if its too loose it will rev low at first an once you step on it it will stay at the last rev you were on but if you put the sprijng coil on way too tight then your going to have one hell of a time to push your accelerator.
we had checked it in the beginning, but i guess we didnt check good enough. cause when we took the intake off, the throttle was opened, when the car was off. so thats how we figured that the cable was too tight. my cable on my hatch also needs to be adjusted.
