I have been told that you have to either remove the dash or most of the components because there is about 6-8 screws I believe.

There are screws behind it holding it onto the dash. Best way to pull that out is to pull the whole dashboard out.

man that must be a hell of a bitch

my interior is grey and my idea was to paint this panel black and get a black steering wheel/column to give my dull grey interior a little more of an interesting two-tone feel.

Yeah I could imagine. That grey piece isnt too bad if you have a black dash.

Word, sounds like a cool idea, post some pics when you do it! But yeah, the best way to get the screws holding that piece on is to take the dash right out, matter of fact I think its the only way because its pretty cramped for space behind it. Youd get it dont quicker by taking the whole dash out rather than trying to find a way around it. Good luck!

There is one model of the 92-95 Civic that came with that piece in a darker grey than your current one, its textured like the door panels and dash too, Ive got one on my car, cant remember what model it came out of though, CX or VX is my guess, Ill get a pic of mine really quick.

Notice the texture on it and the darker shade of grey.

The last pic does the best justice on the texture.

wow thanks for the help daluv but i doubt it will be easy for me to find that darker stock gray panel, i thinking of pulling mine and giving it a nice coat of a black gloss and the column too so they match. as for the steering, ill look into a newer one.

this sucks cuse i just spent all last night taking out all my dash componants so i could install amber cluster bulbs i bought and painted, the outcome?.. they came out red .

if anyone wants to to see the pics tell me

I had that carbon fiber wrap when I first picked up my EJ1... needless to say it didnt sit well with me and I ripped it off.

Did you know that Autozone, and a lot of other parts stores sell amber bulbs that work in our clusters? They arent expensive, I bought mine from Autozone, and I like the outcome.

I just saw the piece recently in a local junkyard in my area, sucks that it doesnt help your situation though! I think Ill start a collection of these incase anyone else might want one in the future. I definatley like it a lot, and it definatley confuses people at times. Lots of "where the f@$# did you get that" and the good old stupid "is that a JDM piece!?!?!?" lol!

Post up some pics when you hit yours up with some paint, Id like to see the outcome!
