i found a coolant leak today its coming from around the grommet where the heater core goes threw the firewall is there a way to fix this without taking the whole heater core out i read that if you take a socket for those two fitting if this is true can someone tell me how to do it

as far as i know you need to replace the heater core
and to do that i think it easiest to take out the dash
not a fun job

 

i have a spare heater core

ok before i go ripping out the dash to change the heater core i have a couple ?'s
if the heater core was bad there would be coolant in side the car right well mine is leaking out of the grommet on the firewall and down onto the underside of the car any suggestions
