Default Crack in Floor , what should i do? ... Scrap it or keep it?..

i've been using this car as a beater for quite some time now, at least since i lost the garage space i was using. when i bought this car it came with Old Teggy seats, and the moron who put them in bolted them to the floor in an unsecured area. So eventually from sitting on them and rusting because there is a dang hole in the floor, the area around them cracked. Sure i'm stupid for not fixing the problem when i had a chance, but unfortunately i didn't.

So what do you guys think? Is there an somewhat easy way to fix this?. I haven't tried using JB weld before, but it might be an option?.. Also there will be a hole if i decide to pick up some Si seats from a near by junyard, and i'de like to fill it.

Maybe i should just scrap her unless i get a garage in the next month. I just can't see another EF go to the heep

YAY damage !!

just for kicks.... got clipped..

thats a good idea, i guess because i usually do all my own work, i think things will be too expensive lol.

Do you really think it would be that cheap or thereabouts? I would rather do it right.

I want to scrape up all of the sound deadening layer on the floor and replace that while i'm at it. But i'm not quite sure what to use.

If i were you, id dry-ice the sound deadening out and check the floor over, if those are the only cracks its definately fixable, very easily actually.

the reason why it cracked is because that bolt that goes through the floor should have a BIG backing plate underneath it to spread the load. weld the crack and get the right hardware.

Yo,

That driver side looks pretty clean man! Ide stay away from the JB weld and do what Rhythmsnewsn and Lo-Buck EF said.

Just curious, what do you mean by saying you hope to get a garage in the next month?

C'mon man. You've been here long enough to know that she's EASILY savable...(ps: she's a nice colour too). Weld up that seat mount, fix the damage and get her back on the street...

Thanks guys... im gonna have it welded by a shop and dry-ice the layer off.

Anyone have a suggestion of what to put to replace the sound deadening layer besides the carpet i'm getting? Maybe its not all that necessary?

Sounds good, i'm going to stay away from the JB and get it done right.
What i meant about the garage, is that i have no place to really work on it without one. Later in the month i should have one again i hope ! ..

But thanks for the push, i can't wait to get her into shape again

Yes it is . I've seen these aftermarkets before, but i'm not sure if it was put in after it was purchased or it was an option at certain dealers in 89. Either way i'm looking for part of the latch because it doesn't lock. I love it though ^_^
