My car died out of nowhere today (95 del sol s), it's not getting spark so i'm trying to determine whether the distributor is bad or not (200k miles)....on the small plug I found one wire getting power with the key on, but i'm not getting anything out of the big plug...can anyone point me in the right direction??

(i browsed over the FAQ and didnt see anything, as well as searched, thanks)

 

when was your last tune up.
when you're not getting spark it can be your cap, rotor, and/or ignition coil.
first get a new cap and rotor.. if the car dont start then change the ignition coil.

 

I understand where you're coming from....but usually tune up items do not just die out all at once...with wires, plugs, cap/rotor etc its USUALLY a sputter here and there before it all of the sudden dies...car ran fine and out of nowhere died out and will not start back up...

 

i had a similar problem.... it turned out to be my ignition coil...
i was driving on the freeway and it died all of a sudden...and it wouldnt start back up

 

okay sounds like that might be my problem....any way to test it? and where is it located, under the cap or...?

 

its inside the dizzy. take off the cap and rotor to get to it..
when i took mines off. there is a burn mark on the side of the ignition coil.

tak yours apart and examine it.
