ITR Brakes - Front Caliper Rebuild Question
I just finished putting them back together and I would like to know if you have to use the sheetmetal plate that goes on the inside of the caliper. There are 3 thin sheet metal plates per front corner (two on the caliper mounting bracket and one that goes on the inside of the caliper itself). Does this need to be replaced? It didn't come in the "rebuild" kit from Acura and the old one is damaged greatly for whatever reason. What does this little plate do inside the caliper exactly? I realize what the ones on the mounting bracket do (keep the pads in place) but I don't see what the caliper metal plate is for. Brakes aren't something I want to cut corners

It's #12 in the picture I believe.
Oh and to keep this on topic it is a full blown EG race kaa' so I want input from people who drive on track.
Thanks,
Mike

That pushes the pads forward, and is mostly a noise thing I think (to make them not rattle when not braking). I've run a few sessions forgetting to put them back in, so I don't THINK it's a big deal, but I'm not positive. I might have an extra pair laying around, if so, you can just have them.
