Default Door Switch/ Dome Light.. 92-95 civic

Hey guys, just recently i noticed my dome light no activating when I open the door. But with this problem my alarm will not go off with this not working. I changed the door switch and it doesn't work. The passenger side works fine. And with the key to the open position you hear the beeping noise. I can still turn the dome light on manually. Im stumped here, and searched but the only thing that kept popping up was for the EKs with the keyless entry. Anyone had this problem? The screw has no corrosion and it was working properly last week. Thanks in advance.

Arm the alarm and touch the connector to bare metal ground and see if that sets off the alarm.

If it doesn't, then something is wrong with your alarm or the way it's connected (not likely being that the pass side works).

If it does, then at some point the switch is not grounding. Could be the switch itself, or could be aftermarket paint that is causing it not to get a good connection.

I just tried doing as you said, still to no avail. What bugs me the most is that i still hear the beeping, and when i push the switch or close the door it goes off. So now im confused, tomorrow im gonna drop my steering column and check out the wiring up there.

Double check the placement of all your fuses. It is easy to accidentally put one back in an empty spot next to it...happened to me. Sometimes those slots are only used on certain submodels and weird stuff can happen by fusing one of those.

Well yesterday, i dropped the steering column and moved the fuse box out of the way, go to the brain of the alarm and luckily i still had my clifford manual so i pinpointed the trigger switch on the dome light and spliced into the door switch, and bam it works again now. Thanks for everyones help.
