what form of protection do you use?
What gauges do you guys like to have or see as a necessity when you turbo your car and end up pushing 500-600 hp out of your motor? i keep on going back and forth about which gauges to buy as well as pods and weather or not i want all the mess of wiring it all up. so what do you guys like or recommend?
if you plan on running 500-600hp, this should be the last of ur worries, wiring ?! im sure everyone is gonna agree guages are definite. if ur pushing that much money u want to monitor all vitals of ur motor. i have a/f, egt, oil pressure, and boost, but not to mention the most important form of protection the trojen magnum
ha ha hd to throw that in at the end

thought the trojan thing too, but i an in a good mood despite no money for the beach this weekend, so here goes.
last year, i had a tach, only because it has an integrated shift light and a factory tach doesnt go past 9 i was shifting at 10.2. wideband and boost.
this year i am running boost wideband tach and water temp because hondata is funny, i am either too cold or too hot for the last 4 passes i have had.
some people go overkill on gauges.
o.p. is great, but i dwell on it all the time. so i dont worry about it. i look at like if it is on the dammage is done he hee.
so with that said at the least, you need boost, and wideband.

when i was in shop class in 92, my friend ran the whole way down "a" wing (about 100-130 yds) at my h.s. to beat my other friend to class, he had to get there first to tell the secret he was just told. he didnt have a condom that night so he busted in the room and yellled, DUDE Jamie effed his girl last night with saran wrap. that was great. i will never forget that.

Don't forget to leave her a pearl necklace before you leave.
Ok I'm done.

My Setup may be a bit overkill:
Tach, Water Temp, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, EGT, Boost, Wideband A/F, Fuel Pressure, Oil Pressure.
Protection wise, I prefer a good old coat hanger, punch in the stomach or push down the stairs.

I run a boost gauge, oil pressure, and a/f display... (the display for the wb also displays and can peak/hold the a/f, lambda, rpm, egt, boost pressure, etc. as well if I want).
A/F & Boost Are your obvious two.
For your mill, I would included at least some type of fuel pressure gauge, under the hood or electronic in cab. Setting up your base pressures will be very important.
An EGT gauge will also play a good roll. Some will say you can tune of EGT, I use it as simply a precaution. Your A/F ratio can be good, but your EGTs can be high due to a timing issue and so on. It will give you a good warning that your about to cook some valves or your turbine.
I believe with all VTEC engines, a oil pressure gauge can be a good purchase. It may not show you a whole lot most of the time, but it can give you a bit of warning if your losing your pump or something else is going hay wire.
For your setup;
Get a good Wideband A/F, Boost, EGT and some sort of fuel pressure gauge. After that, its all personal preference.
