Default Strut bars created equal?

As far as rear and front, both upper and lower. Are they all created equal? would a megan be similar to a skunk2 or tein. I searched, but just found a lot of FS's. Thanks

Personally, I think the ones that are one solid piece, welded and not bolted together are more solid and stiffen the chassis better.

yep, most things that are welded solid compared to pieced with bolts will def be stiffer. I wouldn't spend any more than $20 per bar...ebay specials get my vote. Why? strut bars stiffen the chassis but not enough to spend $100-$300 on a bar. Its all a bling factor, just my opinion.

all the ones i have found on ebay (referring to front strut bars) are bolted together, I was thinking about this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...85045

or this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

I know they are exactly the same thing, but that's what I was looking at

Strut bars that need to be preloaded to be put on will give alot more handling then a non preload bar.

Basically to preload the bar you install them with the vehicle raised to relieve the shocktowers of weight and balance the load and if the bar is adjustable to adjust it then...taken from tanabe-usa website under strut bars.

the bars that have adjustments on them. they are just as "siff" and able to preload.
Dont spend much on bars. like bmoua said, ebay it. The funtion of a strut bar is to keep the two strut towers the same distance apart. "body roll" is the term for when your chassie flex / twists and those 4 point change distances.

Gawd dang... HT is full of ignorant-savant

Body roll is caused by the weight of the car rolling from a corner to the next, not because of chasis flex.

You could have the stiffest body ever, but if the springs and dampers are not controlled, you will still have enormous amount of body roll.

Unless you track your car with some really grippy rubber, I doubt one would see the difference between a 20$ or a 200$ bar.

BODY ROLL :
Definition; The leaning or tipping of a vehicle's body to one side when turning sharply. This reduces traction and increases tire scuff due to undesirable alignment changes. Body roll is controlled primarily by a sway bar, but the stiffness of the springs and shocks also play a role.

not far off, relax turbo.

Edit: defintion of body roll, "The changing of the chassis' angle in relation to the ground when going through turns or corners"

there gonna be the same. luserkid made the point that some of them you can put a load on it. Either way you will get the same results. Go for looks. I used a stock GSR bar in the front and a cheap ebay one in back. If your car is a track car. Load-able bars IMO.

Okay, one is a front and rear strut bars with an H bar, the other is a front and rear strut bars with front and rear lower tie bars. Which would help more?

Being a front wheel drive, i would assume that the H brace would do more then the rear lower tie bar. ive read some posts about the rear lower rear bar. some ppl say not to use them. try searching a bit. with the H brace i noticed that my wheel hop was less. but I had to remove it for exhaust room. its also nice to have that H brace down there to protect the exhaust. over speed bumps n ****. I was happy i had one, on a few ocassions.

rather than spending over $100 on an aftermarket bar or going with a cheaper ebay bar, why dont you just buy an si strut bar? they are the same thing as the ctr bar and i got mine for ~$20 shipped.

i talked to a guy who has the h-brace, he says it made a good difference. He was using a NRG h-brace, not a ebay special h-brace. I'll be getting a nrg h-brace soon.
