Default my custom intake problem. (continuation)

this is what the intake looked like before.

then i took off the filter and put it on the oppisite end to make it more of the regular fit.

If the filter was on, it would hit the distrib cap..
What do you guys suggest?

AEM, Injen, and Weapon R are among some of the good brands out there.

Dude... Just cut a hole through your hood. It'll be better than a hood scoop.

Buy a new intake! I believe those are for V6 6th gen Accords.

I bought a used intake from ebay for $50. AEM CAI. See if you can find one. It'll take time, but you'll get it cheap and CARB approved. Same goes for Injen and Weapon-R

put the filter where it goes, then buy a 45 degree coupler and replace the one currently on there.

im not sure if this will work but use your stock intake hose up to the airbox, take the airbox out , hook yur new one to your existing stock hose and extend down to the where the lower air box was if you removed it. just an idea, send some pics if it works, haha.

No headaches here...... just find the right angle you need and cut it with a hack saw. Cut it off the throttle body end of the intake tube as shown in the image below.

Hell ya got it for free why spend money when you don't need to. It will be a very short ram intake but it was free Not 20(egay tube)+ 30(good filter) + shipping and not to mention a weeks wait.....

I don't think there is enough room for this intake to fit, un-modified, between the TB and strut tower & Fuse box. Even if the pipe fits you still have to put a 6" filter on the end of that pipe.

Any luck with your intake?

Here are two SRI that I made today out of my original Accord CAI. Making the mount for the Mass Air Flow sensor on my Tribute was the only tricky part.

Original CAI top left image
New Accord SRI bottom left image - Throttle response was amazing. 1st & second gear 0-7500 rpm in no time.
New Tribute SRI right image

Took me about 2hrs to measure cut and fab the two of them.

Well I guess that's all you noobs are about. You're complacent with following footsteps. Afraid to make your own tracks. "Save your time" What time? You could wait a week and pay cash out of your pocket or spend an 1hr using your imagination and being creative with something free. To me that is a no brainer. I suppose when your living at home and daddy's foot'n the bills it's easy to say spend money.

What an f'n lazy generation. Some advice for ya here, Go play your Halo or NFS and dream of someone else building a car for you. Because that is what your advice amounts too. This guy wanted to know how to mod his intake....not where to buy a new one.

Shut up. You made a useless hot air intake out of a SRI. A cold air intake extends into the fender.

Please show me the dyno proven gains from your almost-an-intake. Oh wait, there aren't any. If you really think you can perform better research and development than a large company like AEM you let me know.
