hey i got this jdm h22a and i am seein that type s cams cost about 600 to 700 bucks.. and from what i understand they just slide right in no adjustments required... now i also hear that if you buy... say crower stage two cams that you have to buy all new valvetrain springs and everthing.. but if i can get some used crowers stage 2 off of ebay for 300 or less then i could buy a crower valve train to match it for like another 300 and supposed vtech wil lhit way harder and i am still only spending about 6 to 700... so what you guys think..

ps i am also lookin to get some type s pistons... this would still be ok because of the sleeving and everything right? so i don't have to buy another brand and go through a bunch of crap...

 

oh man, VTECH is gonna hit way harder with those stage 2. get on it brotha !!

type s cams are not worth 6-7 hundred. not even close. they are not very aggressive either. almost the same as the usdm h22a4 cams.

yes with any stage 2 cam you need to upgrade valve train.

If your "vtech" starts hitting harder, somethings wrong. an ideal vtec is hardly felt or heard.

Depending on which block you have... To put in Type s pistons you need to hone or re-sleeve. with the h22a block. with the FRM H blocks, such as the A4 you dont have to sleeve and cannot hone, unless a special stone is used. Just resurface the walls with a very very very fine paper.

Makes it easier if you use the spell checker too.

 

well what i mean by "hit harder" was way more aggressive and harder pull oh and my vtec is extremely noticable it is not just hardly felt or heard.. it is very noticable

the block i have is the h22a block so i guess i will have to hone or re-sleeve for them right?

hes trying to tell you that the point where your vtec engages is supposed to be smooth. what youre describing sounds like a laggy turbo when it hits full boost.
