Are ITB's worth it on a stock JDM B18C1?
A huge hit to the wallet
You have to tune ITBS as well. It would also depend what kind of IM/tb/intake setup you have.
Are you doing some kind of racing that forces you to keep stock guts?
You can see gains from stock setups on ITBs but if it's worth it or not is something you will have to think about and read up on.

Yea, thats why I was wondering if the gains were worth the price difference. Either way Im going to get the car tuned though. The reason why Im going with stock internals is because I cant afford the time to be down a car, so I'm going to have to make do. I figured I could have a fun daily drive with the 10.6:1 Cr, but I'll be running a S2 IM portmatched with S2 68mm Tb, and a Comptech Icebox CAI.
If you can't afford down time, you shouldn't mod at all, but that's just my feelings. I own 3 cars and it's VERY rare 2 are running at any given time, not because they are junk but because mods take time and or effort and money that I don't have to spend on them non stop.
Depending what you want out of the car will matter a lot for modding.

All depends on what YOU want....
But if you're going to start heavily modding your DC2, I'd buy a reliable beater!

I think he means "Day 1, fit ITB's. Day 2, Have car running perfectly"
Its very unlikely.

I know. Just a little sarcasm for the morning.
I will admit it took some time to get the ITB's running as smooth as they do now.

ITB's wont really make a difference on a stock motor, and if it is just a DD i dont see much use in dropping the cash for hardly any number gains what so ever when you could easily charge the car, or boost it, and see much larger gains in power.
you will also sacrifice idle quality.
just my two cents.

Of course we could all just boost our engines. Any monkey with $2,000, a set of hand tools, and half a brain can do that.

My car idles better, and with less timing than the manifold setup. (With the exception of cold idle. Lack of an IACV will do that, though.)

for the price of ITBs, you could build the motor up and get more power that way.
if its going to be nothing more than a daily driver then, no
the price isnt worth the difference imo.
edit: also, what ITB's are you using d-rob?
