mine passed with a d15z6 vtec head and a the distributor was retarded all the way, just do an oil change and get it hot before you try and pass smog

Ok here's the story...

So I wasn't sure if a ZC can be smogged much less pass visual inspection.. I went to this smog shop my buddy told me to go and said that they probably wouldn't notice the zc. It wasn't far from my house, so i went to the place and it was gone like in moved out

I knew i could hit one up on the way home so I looked, found one and pulled in. Feeling shady I walk up and see a younger looking guy and say "I just need to get smogged" he looks at the car and says "does it have a stock motor?" **** I
thought... So I say "yea"... he popped the hood and busts out this little flashlight outta nowhere and says "well its a Japanese motor alright"..Then says its a legal replacement... I didn't know this.. He tells me to fix a vaccum line and get a timing belt cover because I have a AEM cam gear. I ran next door to this shop and asked if I could buy a T fitting to fix my line and they were totally cool and gave me one.

I call my homie that deals with alot of parts and asked if he knew where I could find a timing belt cover.. he asked what shop I went to and I told him and he ended up knowing the guy who runs the place.... He asked to talk to him and so I gave him the phone, they talked for a minute and he hung up, told me to oull the car in right on!! he said "I build Honda's and ended up owning a DA and he chip's ECU's. We talked as he tested the car.

He looked at the ECU, and I just got the car Friday so I still haven't gone through it all and says its been chipped. He grabbed a stock PM3 off the shelf and plugged it in, the car passed.. he tuned my chip for free. reset it back to stock and then tuned it with CHROME to get more power. now red line is @8000 alot more open throttle power!!! made it pass all but emissions... said I need a new CAT so I am going to get one tomorrow and go back.. Cool guy tho.. I'm gonna throw a turbo on the ZC soon and he's gonna tune for real cheap sweet hookup.

most engine importers have these motors. even those hole-in-the-wall places.
