roll cage?
well this is still a daily driver...so i was worrying about it being annoying climing in and out over the bar in front of the doors... how is it for you?
cages and daily driving suck. this is now a purpose built race car.
plus in a daily driving incident, it may actually harm you more, because you dont wear your helmet to work.
you dont need a full cage by the sound of it. if you are looking for a show bar, try auto power or somehting like that.
to me they are junk, all they do is add weight to the car.

yeah im only in the 12's and im 16 so i dont have the money to get another daily... but i took my dad a ride in it and him being all cautious asked about me getting one for safety and said he'd look into buying it so i thought i wouldnt pass it up.. the whole car is mainly gutted just front seats and dash so is there a good set up that will still make it reasonably luxurious i mean not having to clime over the bars and ****...
honestly, bars in a daily arent a great idea.
if your head bounces off of the bar in an accident, it will prob do more harm than if it werent there and your head just bobbled around. make sense?

true... i guess im mainly taking advantage of the fact my dad acutally wants to buy it and they usually come out lookin pretty sick.. any alternatives i could go to?
dont go overkill, just put a 6pt bar, and spend a few extra dollars for swing outs.
get it done in mild steel, it is a little heavier than moly but it is cheaper.

instead of doing a 10pt cage you could have a simple halo built with some bent door bars that would be out of the way. I should add that having a prebent tube on a cage is a bad/weak idea but it would help with DD ability. I had the privaliag of driving an STi a couple months back that had a full cage and that was one area that prevented me for purchasing the car. Then again im 6'5" sooo. browse around and see what you come up with or you could break out a pencil and paper and let your imagination wonder.

That cage needs some padding...

not my car just an example of swing outs. and its just an 8pt bar. depending on the space from the door to the bar there may not be enough room.
there is no padding on my door bars. just the main hoop, and halo where my net is.
