I am having problems with 3rd gear in my Y1 w/LSD trans, it grinds under higher RPMs. I just put Redline MTF in it hoping it would make it a little better but to no avail. Can I buy a replacement synchro? Also I have been told that the 3rd gear synchro is notorious for going out, has anybody else had similar problems? Thanks.

 

manufacturing defect, just about all early cable tranny's do this. Every one i've had does.

 

How did you go about fixing them? Or did you just buy a new trans?

I can get any part you guys need for the Cable JDM trannys. ... I'll be placing that order on the 1st of July...

Also the Honda has fixed the problem with the syncros now in the cable trannys...it was a recall a while back
