EK RHD CONVERSTION,,,questions
EK half-cut / Dash-cut ....no motor
I finally found an importer who has one $500+$500 from CALI to ATL,GA
now what I need to know is what ALL components are required for RHD conversion
cause he said ""I ONLY HAVE 96-98""and he said it like it was a bad thing??is the 99-2000 CTR half cut more desirable?? I didn't know there was a difference??
I also confirmed that it CTR/EK9 and not the EK4..dont know if it even matters
and he said climate control was missing ""wouldn't I need this"" or can I use my USDM
a/c control panel??((the clusters missing ,but I know I can use mine))
he said he would give me the door panels??
thanks in advanced for any input....and I know some of you are going to say ,,this is stupid ,don't cut up your car ,but I've seen this done on a few cars in ATL and MAN I just love the way it looks not to mention the JDM and "whoa did you see that car ,the steering wheel is on the wrong side""shock factor
I SEARCHED ...(E.HONDA's was the best)but if you guys know any decent links on a HOW-TO that would be great 98% of the ones i found are cluttered with bullshit ...why does this happen some much ,most threads I find are 10%tehnical and 90%looks great, good job keep up the good work...yatayyattayaa?????

you need the dash and the friewall and possibly stuff like the master cylinder and such. toy might be able to use the ones on your car. possibly the climate control too. probably just throwing in door panels to be cool.
supposely u need the complete wiring harness too, like the whole wiring harness for inside the car and the engine wiring harness so your can swap all the Bs on the right side and put it on the left and vise versa ie computer and fuse panel

If you have to ask how to begin then you're over your head already. Go to a reputable body shop and see if they'll give you a free quote on the install to give you an idea of how labor intensive this is to do. If done wrong, it could be unrepairable or dangerous. Good luck the the how-to hunt though.
96GSRcx...I've been cutting up cars/trucks since I was like 2 years old ,The R&R of the firewall does not intimidate me in the least ,The wiring is the part that scares me a little and just making sure I have all the components necessary to do from start to finish ,I don't want to be missing little bullshit parts that I need
I would think most of the rhd conversions people on here have done are their first ones. So they wing it with no real hard technical info because it's a learn as you go process. I have never had anything to do with rhd conversions, but some of the stuff just makes sense. You would need a dash wiring harness / heater core because the fuse box would be moved to the right side. I would imagine some of the problems would correct themselves if you do a wire tuck in the process though. If you know how to bend brake/ clutch lines you're almost home free. G/L.

I don't think you can use your USDM climate control. The Type Rs (other foreign Civics had them too, I'm just not sure which ones) had a center vent in the dash and the lever for it is inbetween the two vents on the climate control which makes it different. If you don't care about having a lever for the center vent, then you MIGHT be able to use your stock climate control with some modification. The only other things that would be different is you wouldn't have the carbn fiber trim and the radio and pocket wouldn't be on the side that they are on right hand drives.
96-98 Type R climate (see the hole for the lever I'm talking about)

I know you're probably not looking for opinions but..... DON'T DO IT!!!!
This is the absolute worst possible modification you could make to your car. Your changing the very frame of it, its not the same car anymore. RHD conversions are rare for the reason that they are impractical, pointless, incredibly involved, expensive, and not worth their work. Consider leaving the world of Hondas for two weeks. Come back, and see if you REALLY want to do this. For the cost and effort, you could have SO much more, and even with a RHD conversion, all else aside, you really have nothing to show for it except the inability to use drive thru windows on your own.

this is a big project, i've seen 2 in person, and bolth i wouldn't ride in. They just hacked up the firewall, spot welded the old, and called it a day.
I would do as much research as you can, then find a clip that you know works for you.

The only difference I know of would be the climate controls.
