Ummm D series motors have been known to do 300+ thousand miles. 130K is like the end of the break in period.

This may sound derogative, but in my experience it holds true. You didn't buy a domestic car, so don't expect domestic reliability. I've had a Camry last well into the 400,000's and not have any huge mechanical repairs, given proper maintenance routines.

In general the D-series can last a very long time with proper maintenance.

I'm very easy on the engine and I very rarely put any strain on it. I never push it in or near the red rpm area. I accelerate fairly progressively and I almost never go above 3200-3300 rpm. Doesn't matter to me, I will sell my car in 12 to 18 months but I try to be easy on my wallet. Once in a while I will push a little bit more for a few minutes to get the oil flowing but that's a once a week thing

i have seen d17 with 200K been treated like crap from not a kid but just an adult who does nothing but oil changes and they still run good 130K is nothing to a civic.
unless u already have a problem and that is y u are asking this question and u don't want to tell us your civic died ....lol

whats the most common thing that go wrong with the d17/EM/ES-..like component wise..starter?water pumpt?timing belt?ac pump?power steering pump?rack&pinion?axles?suspension components?auto/manual components?cooling?Fuel?lighting?

*I know the engine is good, but what do we have to look out for in general after doing regular maintenance and replacing of normal wear and tear stuff.*

One thing I did find wrong was my Lock out for the rear trunk, I locked it to see if it worked and it did but then I tried to unlock and it just dint work..I could not open my trunk from the inside for some time, only with the key, but finally got tired of it and fixed it myself...it works fine now..

I have mine died because of my radiator hose blown out which lead to overhating and toasted the engine, it was when my mileage reach around 140,000.

Advice: replace the upper and lower radiator hose at 120,000.

Idk, because that time i'm doing around 140-160kph and i heard a POP sound from the engine bay and the engine stall suddenly then I saw my temp gauge it's too high, good thing is only few cars behind me, steering wheel was heavy and it's difficult to maneuver to the side of the road knowing that i'm in the fast lane it's a four lane anyway, just imagine that.

here's a pics of damaged upper hose.

from what i understand is if a cop notices ur car doesnt have airbags but should have come equiped with them he can write a ticket for it. not 100% sure how accurate that is tho
