Driving me crazy...
So I have this B18b motor, it has Brian Crower valve springs, and Stage 2 cams. I wanted to change the pistons to b16 pistons to raise compression. Well, after i took the whole damn motor apart, i realized the connecting rods and piston has to be pressed to remove the piston out from the rod. I decided to scrap that idea and put the whole engine back together. After putting it back together, I did a compression check and it's 45 in cylinder 2 and 4 and 120 in cylinder 1 and 3. The then did a leakdown test and it shows that it's leaking in cylinder 2 and 4. I torqued the ARP headbolts to 80lbs, I used new gaskets, i don't know what the hell is going on.... Does anyone know how to fix this problem? It's driving me crazy..
did you hone the cylinder walls replace rings tolerance and replace all bearings cause just taking a motor apart and putting it all back together throw alot of things off
because you have no idea what you just did i recomend you take the whole engine to a machine shop to be rebiult
p.s. you might want to edit this post to somthing else before you get flamed

check cam timming, and valve lash.
did you remove the rings from the pistons? are / were they reinstalled correctly? rings wear to the cylinders, and they may not like a different bore. like if they got mixed up.

Did you align the gaps in the rings the right way. If you didn't pay attention to this when you put the pistons back in you may have all the gaps stacked on top of each other which would give low numbers.
oh dear god why.... you should have known that there pressed in before you took it apart.. .how do you think the pin stays in the piston.... magic? take it apart again bring it to a machine shop sense you obvisouly dont know wha tyour doing and have them hone it.. then bring it to a shop with some good rep and have them put the motor back togeather..... with new rings and bearings.. you may even want to get a line bore and have them fit the bearings depending on ware of hte motor........ i feel sorry for your engine
