all of them have grenading k03's... hence why my turbos are k04s(stage 3 car)
all of them have the same driveline.. so i dunno about the leaks/diff problems.. being more apparent in one year compared to the others.
and never once heard of dash problems besides the missing pixles on the gauge cluster display.. but thats apparent in all 1999-2001 (b5) s4.
i don tkonw where your getting your info from.. but honestly dont say **** if you arent 100% sure.
if the S4s are beat and not maintained yes they can be a hassle... you have to know what your getting yourself into... and do your research..
thats where you get your problems is careless owners... honestly yes the car can be a bit high maintnence at times but if you take good care of it and do what your supposed to itll be good to you. knowing the history on a car also is a huge factor as well. i know of the previous owners to mine and i have talked to every one of them ensuring the car was meticulously cared for.. i have every receipt from the car.. service.. mods....repairs.. everything..
like i said. ive never heard any of your problems which are reoccouring or common enough to be considered a problem with the s4's in general other than the turbo failure which is inevitable with the stock turbos... and the missing pixles..
these cars have been my dream cars for ever since i can remember. beleive me i have done my research and i know all the problems these cars may have that are related to other ones.
all in all they are badass cars... luxury.. and a fairly easy base to build on... and the cars work well.... beleive me its 100000000% worth the money.. 1000000000 times over.PROVIDED you find the right one

i know all of this because my friend's whole family is in the audi scene and they've all owned multiple audis. his rear diff. went out 3 times, turbos have blown, dash and center console have gone out... all dealer maintained from day 1 too. now that i think about it the dealer replaced his front/rear brakes that went out months later too, and he NEVER drove his car hard either.
