Default Hey which crankshaft has a longer stroke. Dohc Zc or D16z6???

hey peeps need a lil help. i just got a dohc zc block for free.
so im just gonna use the pistons and rods from it and swap them
over to my single ex motor.
but i want to know if the dohc zc crankshaft would be better to
use on the ex block. example like longer stroke, more balance, stronger. etc.

so any help is greatly appreciated. thanks guys.

Nope. Same exact stroke. The journals may be a different size though, I don't know.....The pistons have a higher dome that will boost your compression though.

Be careful with your piston to valve clearance, you should just use the pistons and let the rods and crank stay with the block.

All 1.6 D-series have the same bore and stroke as far as I know, but there are differences in pistons and bearings and journals between the DOHC ZC and other single cam D series.

coo. but yea dats y i was changing out the pistons to get a higher compression.
so u dont think the journels would match up with the ex motors crank???

but yea i have heard that the vx crankshaft has a longer stroke. i might get one.
think its a good idea???
or any ideas out there???

You can find all this info with a simple search on google.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_D_engine

The stroke for every d-series engine is listed there. Considering every d-series engine is the same bore though, you should know the displacement is gained from stroke. Therefor a D15 is shorter stroke than a D16 and D17 is longer.

No idea on the interchangeability of the cranks though, pretty sure no D15 outside of the D15B has the same journal size as the D16's but don't quote me on it.
