Default can a sohc zc pass smog??

in my 89 hatch i got a sohc zc
and i have to get it smogged in cali

does anyone know if its possible and if so

what i need to put on it?

any help would be appreciated

anything is possible, but i suppose that the zc sohc is a close candidate for failing emissions depending on the testing authority. on the other hand SEARCH BUTTON works great, where you might find others who like yourself have pondered this possibility and have overcome the obsticles needed to drive a zc sohc.

yes it will pass smog.. its just a replacement engine for the d16a6. I have it in my sedan and Ive passed smog already

yeah you will be fine as long as everything is running clean and cat is good. the smog people on really look for dohc motors in civic's. i have a d15b vtec and my 91 si and mine passed fine.

mine passes with flying colors you should have any problems as long as your engine is healthy

All of the stock USDM D16A6 smog equipment (or CARB-approved equivalents).

I passed smog after taking my SOHC ZC to the state ref, my car is a DX that originally had a D15 and was auto trans, I did the MPFI swap as well, my wiring was really clean, I had a new cat and 02 sensor and my timing was dead on. Probably could have used an oil change though but it still passed. Once it passes at the ref they put a sticker in your door frame next to the factory stickers and you can take it to a regular smoh shop next time you need to smog it. My vacuum lines were all connected properly and I have the stock air box connected correctly. Check this site out.
