Default CRV Drive Light Flashing

I have a 2004 CRV EX with over 147,000 miles on it. Best car I have ever owned. I have owned it since new. I had a problem today with transmission gear light indicator. I was in Drive and the D was lit up green as usual. However , as I was going down the interstate the D light started flashing. This has never happened in this 2004 or the 2002 that my wife drives before.

Does anyone know what this means ? Is it just a fuse or something more serious ? I called the Honda garage and they seemed clueless.

Thanks for any help.

I see this complaint on Tranny repairs.

It maybe a sign that your transmission is having a problem adn might need to be replaced.

How long ago did you change your tranny fluid?

I had the tranny fluid changed at 100,000 miles.

you are past due for a fluid change, but that probably isn't a problem. you need to swing by a honda dealer and have them pull the tranny codes to see what is up. Did it act up at all when it was flashing????

More and likely its going to be the range selector switch or pressure switch. It may have a temp stored code. Nothing to serious but get down to the delaership for further diag.
