Does that sound about right?

I'm posting this for a friend who got his car tuned and wanted to know if thats about how much HP he should be making.

 

Probably should have posted this in the RSX/EP forum, don't you think? The question has nothing to do with where the engine is - it could be in a dump truck for all you care.

Ask a mod to move it and I'm sure you'll get better answers

 

i would say that sounds about right...is it pretty much stock with just the modds?...dont expect to get crazy HP with just those modds you have on there

 

Nice numbers. How much did your buddy spend on the swap/mods?

 

Sounds good...how many "racing headers" did he put on it?

throw some ips k2 cams and a better header in there and it'll really wake up

 

you need a better header, 3" exhaust, and a set of rcrew racing cams and you'd be having fun

 

why did he choose the z1?

there are better motors out there than the 05-06 rsx motor

 

Sir, please read the rules. We cannot guess what your HP is, or how fast your car can go, its just not feasable. We'd need ALL the variables, like air temp, what oil your running, what tires you have on, your timing at the time, your dyno sheet, etc, etc. Check the EP/RSX forum, or the hybrid forum. We're all B and D people in here.

 

actually there are not too many people on hee with k swaps actually a good 99 percent of the pople on here havent even seen a k seires motor

i suggest (seriously suggest you go to k20a.org)

they know sooooooo much more than honda tech and the parts are such a good deal there its riduculous haha

 

doesn't the z1/a2 bone stock come with 170hp?? could be wrong...

i would hope not

a2 was ~200hp
z1 ~210hp

no............the z1 isnt a preffrede motor for a swap anyways its a step abouve the A3 but it isnt a k24/k20 hybrid............check out k20a.org

Is this a corrected hp reading or uncorrected? With a better header and 3 inch exhaust. There are alot of variable that could change his numbers.

 

with the cost of getting that z1 into the chasis why didnt he build a k24/k20?

dont ya need a diffrent ecu (since the 05-06 ecu isnt kpro compatible)

new VSS, new charging harness, to get that in there?

that does sound right, to get more horsepower out of it get the 440's injectors from the RDX if you're maxed out...............other wise you're right about where that motor is...............................you could get a better exuast manifold but we all know how much

k swap headers are.......................some compoaines want like waht 1200 for their product?

get me a copy of his calibration - what was used for basemap? who did the tune - doesn't sound like vtc was touched? what do the vtc maps look like for high cam. does tuner know to leave knock sensor enabled? as k-pro does NOT pull timing - its up to the tuner to tune out knock

I have k20a w/rbc did 201/137 untuned & 220/156 tuned... gained 50whp & 40lb ft at 5K (this was on a LOW reading dynapack... gains here from k-pro tuning ALONE

I guarantee you most or all of the k20a.org members are members here as well. They just dwell in the app/cos forums, rsx/ep3 forums, hybrid forums, and all motor forums.

I think the "crazy deals" your buddy received would throw him in that small %. Most people who do the swap from what I have heard usually pay out of the butt.

why a z1 tho thats an expensive 2.0 to swap in....................threr not that much i know a few people who bought blocks and pieaced to gether the swap for 11 grand..........and the k20a2's from totaltedd RSX cars make things cheaper could be done for 5 grand........but then again i cna pieace toghtere a d16z6 powered car in my garage right this second for free


please keep this thing on topic as to why the orignal poster's z1 is running shitty numbers ................. host a new topic if you really want to know the price of a k swap.............go to k20a.org............no offense but if you have to ask that question then you're not ready for the swap. its not hard......................but if swapping a b series takes longer than 2 hours for you skip the k
