Default help me with my 4pt harness.

okay.. yeah i had these corbeau harnesses for awhile now.. wearing them when they dont properly fit. although it did work well in the accident i had but still.. i want them snug. check out the pic ima throw up with this post. (on the right side of me) the harness gets bolted to the slider next to the ebrake handle. the belt is too long im not fat pretty damn skinny. lol. the thought passed my mind to cut and have the belt fixed but wasn't sure if that would affect any safety regulation. the adjusters are maxed out and still needs to be tighter. looking to see how everyone else fixed this problem. i searched and couldn't find any solutions. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. the vehicle is a 96 honda civic.

agreed. every manufacturer builds them to handle one and only one accident.

the pic you showed, it looks like the right lower belt needs to be set differently.
I beleive that the adjustment buckle is slideable on the belt, pulling it towards the mounting location makes it so the belt can be shorter.

But I'd have to run out and look at my passenger's belt to verify how it works.

NOTE: I'm not a big fan of those type of harnesses, they work but adjustability is complicated and getting them off takes a little more time than I'm willing to spend if I need to get out of the car quickly.
Since you are in the market for a new harness anyway, check out Schroth's Profi II ASM FE. Way better/easier adjustability plus they hold you 10 times better.

If you get into an accident with that, the lap belt is going to take out your guts and break your back. get a proper 5/6 point.....it's worth it! I'm skinny too lol. If the lap belts doesn't fit tight around your lap then thats not the belt for you. Don't have anything near your abdomen....the pain isn't worth it lol.

Absolutely DO NOT use those belts for anything. DON'T EVER CUT A BELT... EVER. That instantly ruins any SFI or FIA certification it had, and all the millions of dollars those companies spent testing it to certain tensile stregnths goes out the window. If you want safety you need to have a belt that has a submarine (or a you don't sink under the lap belt) strap. If your adjusters are maxed out, you mounted them wrong. If you need to weld in bolt/harness plates, that'd be the way to go. Race belts are made for race cars... not meant for mounting in stock locations at all. And the way that belt is sitting is begging for a sternum injury.

Not bashing you, I'm just a ***** about safety.

Really. Don't complain when those belts come apart at the stitches. I've got new Simpson SFI 10/07 dated belts for like $89, either that or maybe thousands and thousands of dollars for rehabilitation and medical bills when your belt fails.

On a side note, why are people so hesitant about spending money on safety equipment? I work in a mostly phone sales but alot of counter sales circle track parts warehouse. I have guys coming in that I KNOW spent at least $20k on their motors, $8k on driveline, $4k on brakes... yada yada yada, and then they complain about havin to throw down $100 for a new set of belts.... it makes me go

Racing is fun and all, but going home at the end of the night safe is alot more satisfying.

No one ever thinks about what if.

Everyone wants that last 1/10th of a second no matter how much it is. Everyone wants that extra .5Gs added to their suspension for $5000. But no one wants to save their head or life for $100. But then we buy $1,000,000 Life Insurance just incase we die. Umm why not protect yourself FROM dying first?

Because dieing pays better?

I know I'm worth a whole lot more dead than alive. Between student loans, and credit cards, I have negative net worth.

Joking aside, I've never understood it either. I gladly payed out the cash for a nice helmet before my first HPDE, and will invest in a good certified seat and harness long before any money goes into making more power. I really don't care how fast the car can go, if I don't come home the speed wasn't worth it.

its not that they took too much strain its that they took any

they make them to stretch when you crash to soften the impact

call the manufacturer and see if you can get them to agree with you
if you can i will buy you new racing harness for life

You are going to die. Like way sooner than you think.

Why don't you just get some rope from Homo-Hardware and tie it around you, but only in the middle right where all your soft organs are. Make sure you measure it before you do, so after you crash into something the paramedics can measure how far it stretched vs. how many ribs it broke and how much tissue damage you have after you're dead. Or don't wear a belt, and just die anyway.

Throw your piece of **** stretched used worn cut chaffed rib breaking gut splitting ricer belt in the trash and put the stock **** back in. At least on the passenger side so you don't kill whoever is riding with you too.

seriously dude. really risky thing to gamble on. straight up, wtf are you thinking spending money anywhere else when the SEAT BELTS IN YOUR CAR AREN'T SAFE. like don't buy a gatorade, don't but a pack of smokes, BUY NEW SEAT BELTS. or put the stock jobs back in.

Don't even drive with a stock belt if you wear it like that with the lap belt around your abdomen. Don't do it.
It will really hurt

Just don't drive.

You really need to chuck that thing. Its not helping you installed like that. You mide as well not even wear a seatbelt. You would be better off wearing a Honda symbol on you chest, cuz thats whats going to be there when you hit the steering wheel.
