A NOOB needs help!
Hi im new to this whole Honda world so I need some help. I just bought a 95 civic dx for cheap. The problem is it has a ex motor in it with the dx harness and ecu. I need to replace the ecu for a p28 and get the under hood wire harness for it so the vtech will work properly. RIGHT?
Thanks for any help

look all u need is a p28 ecu and a 4 wire honda ex o2 sensor u need this for your ecu not to have any check engine light or your ecu will run in limp mode or in lamens terms it slows it down then find someone familiar with working on honda wiring u can wire up your vtec and oil pressure with the factory harness and it will work fine just remember to get that 02 sensor it is very important if u want the full power of your motor and also correct gas mileage
ok got you with the o2. so it is possible to wire it up with the dx harness? i need to know how. i need to learn right? so if your willing to describe in deatail i would appreciate it.
what i would do is go to a parts place where u can get wiring scematics your going to need the pages for wiring up your vtec and oil pressure u have to run this inside the firewall into the ecu this can be tricky but find your wiring diagrams and get someone to help you read them then you just run your wires and plug it up also make sure you have the connectors for your vtec plugs on the side of the head this will make it cleaner and easier to take back apart later
What exactly do you have to do for the o2, I need to do the same thing. Although you said it'd run in limp mode, I don't think it'll run in limp mode, my VTEC still works and runs fine, its just that I get a constant CEL and a high idle @ 2k rpm.
I'm guessing for converting to 4 wire, you just clip the connector (that plugs into the harness) off of the o2 sensor, then you splice 4 wires from the o2 and extend the wires through the firewall to the ECU then where do these wires go on the ecu?
