I have a d16z6 that i am about to swap in, and a Helms manual on its way. In the mean time, how do i install the spark plug wires? As in what indicator on the distributor cap tells me what wire goes to first cylinder, what wire goes to second, etc.?

 

Sorry, I don't have a picture, but I'll try to explain this with words:

On the distributor,

-Bottom left connects to cylinder 1
-Bottom right connects to cylinder 2
-Top Left connects to cylinder 3
- Top Right connects to cylinder 4

replace the wires one at a time, no way to mess that up.

 

two things guys, one, i never had wires or a distributor on the engine before, this engine has been sitting in the garage and i finally have gotten all the parts together to swap it in.

second, my distributor doesn't line up so there would just be two on the bottom and two on the top, its tilted more diamond like than square, with one on bottom, two middle and one top, however there is and "A" by one plug and a "C" by another, does this indicate anything?
