But what about a ls1 on boost. Haha. Traction is the next problem.
For sure gets a thumbs up if he gets it done. Keeping it irs and holding the power is the next problem.

hello everyone, i didnt know this thread was here untill earlier today. this is my car and i just updated the link above with more pics/info. this car was previously boosted on a built f20c and cracked a sleeve at 20psi and 505whp. it was totally my mistake. it had a nice tune in it(tony1) and ran great around 14psi/450whp with no problems. then... i got boost happy and cracked cyl. 2 and 3. didnt really feel like rebuilding or doing the whole turbo thing again. wanted something different and new. was debating on either the 2jz or the ls1. since the ls1 hasnt been done i decided to give it a shot. will this car outperform my old setup? ....yes, by a long shot. going for 450-500whp on motor only, then comes the nitrous. this car will have a nisan r230 rear diff and axles and a tremec tko600 trans. to handle the abuse

your on s2ki also, i first saw this car on there.

i think its a bad move the LS1 is heavy with the light s2000 body the balance will be thrown of traction is going to be a big issue. the 2jz worked good due to lighter wieght but was one of the bigger problems with the car. s2000 was maid for road race not to go fast in a straight line (dumb American muscle heads). s2000 cornering was almost equal to nsx-s now they F**ed it up
How much heavier is the engine? Also, by the look of the pics the engine hangs back a lot farther than the 2jz does. Also beefier rear end = heavier. The weight distro might not be that bad.
I want to do this. Really badly.

Please explain to me how a cast iron straight 6 is lighter than a all aluminum small block v8?
Also the straight 6 is a retarded swap... you have to cut out the main crossmember for the motor to fit and hack the hell out of the firewall, the v8 is the same length and doesnt require this, it is also shorter thus lowering the center of gravity so any weight gained is not as bad because it is now lower....

s2k4me,
...you have got to be kidding right.... just for reference the ls1 block is 93 lbs and each head 18lbs. the trans i am using is lighter than my s2000 trans. and about 100lbs lighter than a stock t56. my car will retain its balance i am building this setup around it. i want it to feel the same way it did just with a different kind of power. also, this engine is pushed further back the the stock enigne was. it will be corner weighed to verify

Yeah some people just dont understand that the ls1 is a superlight motor. Im guessing a good bit lighter then the 2JZ and will produce more power. The 2JZ was a omg look at my swap. The Ls1 is omg look at my tail lights.
To fit the 315 i think i seen you post you want to put on. You going to run a widebody? If so, whos? Or tube out?
