I am wondering if is is the ECU or the Distributor? any suggestions?

I have a DX 93 automatic hatch it look like it has a swap motor (single head v tech). I can turn the car on but it idles very bad. I can drive it in and out of the garage but that is about it.... It wont go past 5 mph no matter what I do... their is no longer an o2 censor.... The person i got the car from,.... did his own crappy wiring?.. which i have almost finished figuring out. their are brand new high performance spark plug wires? it an auto y the need i have no clue. the v tech plug is missing. ( i ordered a new one).... ive had other cars do the same thing.. any suggestions what it might be? Id hate to buy a nre distrib for 180 and have that not be it.. and ecu over 100.... im thinking its ecu?
