Default No fuel....no start.

So im having some fuel issues on a 96 civic dx. It wouldnt start so i unscrewed the pressure relief on top of the fuel filter and nothing came out so i turned it on and tried to start while a friend watched the outlet and still no fuel. I even listened for the pump to kick in while i turned the key and nothing. So i thought it might be a bad pump so i went out and bought a new one and still nothing. So i was told it might be a bad main relay so i went out a bought one. Still nothing. I replaced the fuel filter thinking it might be clogged and same story. So now im confused and was hoping someone could shed some light on my issue. Thanks in advance.

Check the PGM FI main relay fuse, if that's good, check for proper voltages at the PGM FI main harness.

k i found the fuse and replaced it. Still no go. How would i go about checking the voltage? I mean i know to use the voltmeter but where do i put the ends? In the spot where the fuse prongs would go?

I bet it's the ecu. Happen to my wife 95 civc lx. I did everythig you mention above too. I switch out the main relay and fuel pump from my own car and still wasn't getting fuel. Did everything I could and got another ecu. Plug it in and it starts right up.

Brand new ecu is going to cost a leg and an arm. Your best bet is to look for a use one locally or online like honda-tech or ebay. Or if you have a friends that drives a 96-98 civic dx/lx ask him/her to lean you the ecu and test it out first.

also check you ecu fuse. then if that is good make sure you have power to both sides of the fuel pump fuse. if so then check to see if you are getting power at the pump. if not then you should try and jump the relay. by jumping the relay you sould have power at the pump. if you have power on both sides of ecu and fuel pump fuse then you have a bad connection or a bad relay.

do you have a test light? if not go buy a cheap one at autozone. You can get one for like 5 to 10 dollars.
