Default I wanna buy this turbo. Help me out

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

I have a d16y8 motor. Thinking of spending 600 on that then another 350 on the intercooler , piping, and raptor bov. Then of course injectors and tune it but.

Can anyone give me some advice on that turbo...

-d series cast manifold ( ultra durable)

haha i wouldn't recommend it, you get what you pay for. On the other hand you aren't really spending that much so if the turbo takes a **** in a year or the manifold cracks you got your money's worth i guess.

if it lasted 6months id be happy because id end up upgrading parts after i complete everything for it to handle more power. Its just something to get started and have fun with for awhile. Maybe run 5-6psi for awhile until i upgrade the fuel systemBTW i trust that cast iron then stainless steel they sell

eh, i see what your saying but why spend the money to get it tuned twice? if you change set-ups your tune is going to drastically change plus if you get a different turbo your downpipe and oil lines may not work. i'd say that kit looks ok, but atleast get a good BOV, and a better wastegate like a tial or something now.

yea dont even this about it i know alot of people that went with **** like this on ebay paid 700 bucks for it and got everything generic and cheap *** parts but a good tune. sure the first month it ran good one guy i know put it in his b18b swaped delsol stock on 10 psi and ran 13's all day. but know the shitty parts are showing why there only 600 bucks dont waste the money save and buy somthing better that will last.

My little brothers turbo sol was built with cheap ebay parts since he is a broke high school student. His car has held up nicely for over 14 months. The only thing that we did to his kit was add an oil restrictor in the line before the turbo. We do think that he is losing boost due to a bad wastegate spring, but overall he has a very fast car for next to nothing. (z6/turbo, 237hp.)

I don't have the turbo but I do have the downpipe and it does not what so ever bolt up to the stock exhaust piping. The flange is turned and is off by like 30 degrees! And the flex pipe touches the oil pan!

You live in CA... dont get that turbo setup. You need to look into either Greddy or Edelbrock and possibly DRAG turbo kits. The Greddy and Edelbrock kits are both CARB certified, which will save you lots of hassle from the police and CA smog restrictions also.

There is no sense in spending 950 you mentioned only to have it last 6 months and then to later upgrade. I would just save the money until you have enough for a complete CARB certified kit.
