Battery light!! why is this on?
why would this come on?? it just flashed on after a gave it some beans in 1st and then shifter and let off... I unpluged my ground and let it sit... put it back on and started it... same ****
have the car running in idle, check the terminals with a voltmeter, should be about 14 volts. If not, check your alternator tension. Then check fuses. Then check battery connectors, check ground to alternator, check connector to alternator. If you put some aftermarket electronics in your car re-check to make sure you're using a ground that's not interferring with anything else. If that all passes, remove the alternator and bring it into auto zone or someone who can test it for free. if it passes then i have no idea!
I requested a short story for a title.

its not a "battery" light, its a "charging" light. so it means something is wrong with your charging system. usually the alternator is going bad and should be replaced immediately.
well thanks guys... found the problem... the crank angle position sensor on my d16y7 that is no longer being used decided to take a little conveyer ride on the alternator belt and got a bit stuck... belt was gone...
