Type-r seats have bling factor and are recaros, so they're comfortable.

Gsr seats will be 1/4 of the price of itr seats, and are still more comfortable than stock civic seats.

Though IMO, I sold my usdm ITR seats for del sol seats and have never looked back.

Only the JDM seats are Recaro. The USDM seats are essentially just recovered Integra seats (though there was some talk at one point that they use different foam density and/or springs).

The ITR seats are handsome, and I find them decently comfortable. Their main advantage over the GS-R seats (at least the leather ones) is the additional "grip" they provide.

Nope, no Recaro markings on the USDM seats and none of them came in grey. The JDM ITR seats are black with red stitching, red with black stitching, or yellow with black stitching. All (USDM and JDM) have the combination of tweed fabric in the centre inserts, and Alcantara on the bolsters.

unless your dealer had custom work done in the em1 seats, I've looked at oem em1 seats vs regular civic seats, as far as construction they look exactly the same.

My friend has USDM Type-R seats (black GSR style seat with red stich) and he hates them, he says they really hurt his back and is looking to get rid of them because of that reason. I like them as the bolsters kinda stick out and hug you real well, but I haven't sat in them for that long of a period of time.

usdm type-r and gsr seats are exactly the same except for the fabric.

all the part numbers are the same and the only difference is the type-r fabric or gsr leather.

del sol seats

Wait wait wait, I think we are all missing what the OP really said. Are the seats really the deciding factor in whether or not you will get a gsr or a type r??

You're right, I did miss that. Indeed, if the original poster is unsure about purchasing an ITR because of the seats, he probably shouldn't be buying one.

They are expensive as hell if they are the ones I saw in the So Cal marketplace. Bright yellow RECARO's and they were going for 3k. I love yellow and all, but for the price... damn. I would scotch gaurd the **** out of them if I did or sit on them with clear plastic bags.

wow I've never seen them only the black or red ones but triple the price isnt worth it. I would rather just have a set of black or red reupholstered in yellow suede.
