Line up Crank pully
the easiest way of doing that is just looking into the service hole into the bellhousing, where you would do ignition timing, and watch for the tdc line on the flywheel, if you spin the engine counter clockwise the 2nd big line you see is TDC
look on the crank pulley behind the alternator belt for a white line . spin the crank with a deep 19mm counter clockwise only until that white line is centered with the black raised line on the lover cover and you at tdc for cylinder 1

Uh, he has a b16 not an h22?? there is no hole to look at the flywheel on a b-series..... all the marks on a b-series are on the crank pulley. look down from inside the engine bay.
